FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Gallery d’Arte, 548 West 28th Street, Suite 328, New York City is pleased to present Voice of Nature, a solo exhibition of recent works by Junghi Han. This show will run from September 8-22, 2016 with an opening reception on Thursday, September 8th from 6 to 8 pm.
Junghi Han explores the cycles of nature and human desires to not only capture it, but to seize it. She uses her unique textures created through mixed media to encapsulate actual nature objects, their floral patterns, and the rawness of their gradual processes. In this way, Han’s images are led through a visual process of erosion, led by a mysterious force of nature. She also explores the color and character of the natural, particularly in a state of change or interaction; which she finds both intense and beautiful. Flowers in particular, are caring objects of nature that humans seek to preserve, reminding us of the ephemeral and precious nature of existence. The work is meant to bring attention to the cycles of life, a sense of freedom, free-flowing spirit and the beauty of the processes that take place at any given moment
Han seeks to visualize abstract ideas, feelings, and thoughts through her acrylic paintings, using both contrast and negative space to create her own sense of balance. Her works are reminiscent of Antoine Berjon, a French painter in 17th century, who used to paint still-life flowers and landscapes with delicate pastel shades, proper balance, and the age’s new sense of nature. Like Berjon’s paintings, Han’s works shows the freshness and grace of the process of blooming.
Junghi Han is a painter based in New York. She received her MFA at Long Island University in New York, and her BFA at Stockholm University in Sweden. She visits Sweden from time to time whilst continuing her art, and devotes most of her time to her work as a global artist.
