FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Gallery d’Arte, 548 West 28th Street, Suite 328, New York City is pleased to present Hidden Passage 2016, a solo exhibition of recent works by Seong-Kyoo Jeon. This show will run from August 11th-20th, 2016 with an opening reception on Thursday, August 11th from 6 to 8 pm.

Seong-Kyoo Jeon focuses on the surface of the material, the geometric patterns inherent within it, and ultimately ordering the painting around these unique marks, blemishes as well as its various colors. For Jeon these tremendous paintings represent the relationship between nature and human beings, and this is further underlined in his works both visibly and eclipsed. The use of bold shapes, colors, and swirling lines define his artistic method, an unforced system that offers infinite combinations and possibilities, and also goes to reflect Jeon’s artistry, proudly showcasing his sense of manual fulfillment.

Jeon seeks to visualize the reciprocal action toward ultimate spiritual life, which is embodied by the integration of his art into the natural sciences and humanities. He also goes to challenge the contemporary phenomenon of technological simulation, bringing to surface the distinction and un-distinction between reality and virtual reality. In all, Jeon inquires into the hidden truths of such matters, seeking to grasp the relationship between these natural phenomena and the human condition.

Seong-Kyoo Jeon is a painter based in Korea. He received his PhD at RMIT University in Australia, and his MFA and BFA at Seoul National University in Korea. He is currently working as a Professor at the Mokpo National University in Korea and devotes most of his time to his work as a global artist.
