FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Gallery d’Arte, 548 West 28th Street, Suite 328, New York City is pleased to present a solo exhibition The Cabinet of The Last Lighthouse Keeper: Nicholas Moore. This show will run from December 7th–31st, 2016 with an opening reception on Thursday, December 8th from 6 to 8 pm.

Nicholas Moore is a figurative artist by fusing his innocence and life experiences on his artworks. Moore doesn't aspire to simply make a piece; he paints a moment and an emotional dialogue that surpasses everyday lives, cultures, and exuberant imaginations. There is much to see in the use of the various mediums such as the alphabet beads, tiny toys, small stickers, buttons, cartoon eyes, paper flags, miniature human figures, etc. that represent his subject matter and narrative. The viewer is further rewarded by taking a closer look at the many details in his works.

Nicholas Moore was born in London in 1958. While studying zoology at Bristol University, he realized that painting was his real passion. After his degree, whilst studying printmaking, he made his second trip to Greece in 1982. Since 2011, he spends his time by traveling between New York City, London and Greece.
